Jonathan Majamanda elected new Vice Chairman for Malawi Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists

The Malawi Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (MAMLS) had an Annual General Assembly on 9th December 2020. The event took place at the Golden Peacock Hotel in Lilongwe. Among other agendas, the Annual General Assembly had to choose new office bearers.

The process was through nomination followed by an election and Mr Jonathan Geophrey Majamanda emerged as Vice President for MAMLS. 

Jonathan  Geophrey Majamanda is a Medical Laboratory Scientist who holds a BSc. in Medical Laboratory Science  (Hons.) from the Univesity if Malawi, the College of Medicine. He also holds a Masters degree in Epidemiology and Implementation Science from the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, S.A. Currently, he is the Head of Biomedical Sciences Department at Malamulo College of Health Sciences. 

He has strong zeal to transform and improve the research culture among Medical Laboratory Scientists in Malawi through student research supervision both for undergraduate and postgraduate, research collaboration and  mentorship.
